Davy Jones died?

(Apologies in advance)

“You have every right to put a book down after a couple of pages, which is why it’s always wise to read a little before buying. Life is simply too short for the wrong books, or even the right books at the wrong time.” —Tim Parks, Mindful Reading (via distantheartbeats)

I even read the bad books. I have never abandoned a story before it was done.

Drugs

Slate: So I’m taking that Chantilly whatever pill that makes you quit smoking.

Heretic: The doctor pills? Chantex?

S: Yeah, that’s the one.

H: The one that makes you kill yourself?

S: That’s only if you are mentally unstable.

H: So why are you taking it?!

S: WHY ARE YOU ASKING?!

H: O_O’

S: Besides, I’m sure the Zoloft I’m on is worse for the suicide-effects. HAPPY BUN, HAPPY BUN, PUT ME IN THE OVEN UNTIL I’M DONE!

Me: I need more beer…

Her Soul

She has no soul. This sounds like a horrible thing to say about someone, but it’s true. She has been on this Earth for just over fifty years, and still she has no idea what kind of person she is. She has no favorite book, no favorite movie, no favorite song. She has no identity, and leaves no trace of herself anywhere she has been. Every house she has lived in by herself feels like a doll’s house, a model home, a hotel room… She pays me well to clean for her, which always makes me feel as though I’m taking advantage of her. There is no mess. There is no clutter. There is no food. A quick pass with a duster and broom is all I need and I am one hundred dollars richer. Some days I feel like the heroine in a mind-bending drama about a girl who lives by herself and has an imaginary Mother to take care of. Meh…the rain makes me reflect a bit. Sorry about that!
